| The Department of Psychology at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August, 2014. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining a productive and fundable research program, contributing actively to our Clinical Psychology MA program, supervising master's student theses, and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses such as Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Personality, Intellectual Assessment, Concepts & Methods of Individual Psychotherapy, and Personality Testing. Given the department's commitment to recruiting the strongest possible research scientist, specialty area within clinical psychology is open. However, particular consideration will be given to applicants with a strong record of scholarship; evidence of potential for success in obtaining external funding; the ability to effectively teach both undergraduate and graduate psychology courses, and research interests in areas such as treatment of adults with severe psychiatric illness, experimental psychopathology, health psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, or substance abuse.
Ph.D. from an APA accredited Clinical Psychology program and the completion of an APA accredited Clinical Internship. In addition to its undergraduate and Clinical Psychology MA programs, the Psychology Department offers a doctoral program in Adult Development and Aging (in collaboration with the University of Akron); a Psychology Specialist program in school psychology; and master's programs for students concentrating in cognitive/experimental psychology, consumer/industrial/organizational psychology, and diversity management. Cleveland State University is located in a large metropolitan allowing for research collaboration with major medical centers.
