Full-time, fiscal year appointment available July 1, 2014. Responsibilities: planning, directing, and coordinating the academic, operational, personal, budgetary, and student activities of the department; providing leadership in program development; promoting excellence in teaching, scholarly productivity, and service; collaborating with university programs, and professional societies, and increasing external funding. The usual academic load for the chair is six hours for administration, three hours for teaching, and three hours for research per semester, including summer semester. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in psychology; demonstrated administrative experience at the department level in higher education; six years of teaching experience in an undergraduate and/or graduate psychology program; demonstrated record of research and publication in any area of psychology adequate for an appointment as an associate or full professor. Preferred qualifications: ten or more years of teaching experience in an undergraduate and/or graduate psychology program; demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and master’s level education in psychology; demonstrated knowledge of the use of information technology to support education and administration in psychology; demonstrated record of acquisition of external funding to support research and/or education and training in psychology; record of service at university, community, and professional levels.
