| Duties: The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York at New Paltz invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biopsychology to begin in Fall of 2014. We seek a candidate with interest in ‘brain and behavior’ broadly construed (e.g., perception, memory, physiological). Standard course load in the department is 3/3. Courses to be taught at the undergraduate and/or graduate level include Psychology of Perception, Physiological Psychology, Introductory Psychology, Statistics, and/or Research Methods, as well as topics related to the successful candidate’s research interests.
Other duties include advising students, mentoring undergraduate and graduate student research, supervising masters’ theses and independent study projects, and participating in departmental and college service.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related field is required, and the degree must be earned by August 1, 2014. Strong candidates must be committed to excellent teaching and demonstrate potential for research productivity, particularly involving student research collaborators.
