Centenary College of Louisiana invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in the Department of Psychology beginning August 2014.

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship, are deeply committed to teaching in a liberal arts environment, and will direct an active undergraduate research program. Area of specialization is open, though candidates with expertise in social, clinical or counseling psychology, biological, cognitive and those who add to the breadth of the departmental offerings in developmental psychology are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates will be expected to teach in their area of expertise as well as contribute to general courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Statistics, History and Systems.

Psychology is one of the largest majors on campus. Potential for research collaboration exists with our Neuroscience program (housed in the Department of Biology) and the nearby Louisiana State University Health Shreveport campus. Applicants for the position should have an earned doctorate in psychology or related field from a regionally accredited institution at the time of employment. Review of applications will begin March 1 and will continue until the position is filled. Applicants should indicate the academic rank, associate or assistant professor, for which they are applying.

Centenary College of Louisiana is a selective, residential, national liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Founded in 1825, it is the oldest chartered liberal arts college west of the Mississippi river and is a member of the Associated Colleges of the South.
