| The Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research
The Nathan Kline Institute (NKI), a leader in mental health research since 1952, is seeking an individual for a key leadership position as Director of Services Research. Candidates must have a track record of scientific excellence, administrative accomplishment and successful competition for federal research funding. This leadership position involves participation on the Institute’s administrative team, strategic planning, mentoring, personnel management and pursuit of one’s own research.
The Institute’s Services Research Division has two primary goals: to conduct high-quality research that is competitive for external funding and to work with the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) to plan and measure systemic change in service delivery. The Division conducts mental health services research to supply information to providers, planners and policy makers aimed at enhancing mental health services delivery and support systems for persons with mental disorders. The Division includes a Center for Cultural Competence funded by New York State. The Director will work with OMH and with academic and community partners to develop and implement the Division’s strategic plan; obtain and expand external funding for research; mentor junior faculty and further collaborations with services researchers at NKI’s academic affiliate, the New York University Langone Medical Center (NYULMC), and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Located 30 minutes north of Manhattan, the NKI is an OMH facility and is affiliated with NYULMC where academic appointment is available for qualified candidates.
