Loyola Marymount University’s Department of Psychology has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate. The purpose of this position is to execute grant-funded research on alcohol and other health-related behavioral and psychosocial domains with (high-risk) emerging adults. The Post-Doctoral Research Associate will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of several alcohol intervention projects. The successful candidate will have excellent quantitative and applied research skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting. The successful candidate is expected to work with the principal investigator and research team to develop, implement and manage current and new alcohol-related research projects with high-risk college students and underage drinkers. The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the research, including data analysis, data management, preparation of reports, managing IRB submissions, preparing presentations, and writing articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals. There are significant opportunities for publications. The incumbent will be expected to be active in grant-writing, designing new studies, providing supervision and mentorship for staff and undergraduate research assistants, and facilitating individual and group interventions.

Typically, a Doctorate or Doctoral candidate in Psychology or other social science-based field is preferred. Candidates with Master’s degrees in Psychology and research experience will be considered.
